Gettin’ Sexy For My 30th Birthday

Hey Passionista!

I can’t believe I am 30. Well I’ve been 30 for a couple of months and it still feel unreal to me. But 30 will be a blessed year and decade. Before my birthday I decided to do a Boudoir photoshoot to celebrate turning 30. I had so many mixed feeling about doing this photoshoot and sharing them on the internet. But the more I thought about it… I more I felt like YOLO!!!!!

Today I am going to be sharing my behind the scenes/ get ready with me content of me getting ready for my 30th Birthday Boudoir Photoshoot. I wanted to do something outside of my comfort zone by doing something, “Grown & Sexy”. I booked my session with Bad Kitty Photography in Atlanta, GA.

If you follow my social media, you’ve already seen all the pictures that I’m going to share from this experience. I selected a few that I’m going to to keep to myself, because everything doesn’t need to go on the internet. Overall, I am proud of myself for actually doing the photoshoot and having fun with the process. I really enjoyed every part of picking out my outfits, doing my hair and nails, getting my makeup done, and having a professional take my pictures all day. I preach about inspiring women to embrace their natural beauty but this was a challenge for me. After doing, I’m so glad I did it and would 100% do it again. I felt so sexy and comfortable in my own skin. I believe that is what beauty is all about.

Let’s chat in the comments! Have you ever done a boudoir photoshoot or thought about doing one?

How to Transition Your Skincare Routine from Summer to Fall

Hey Passionista!

I know it has been a while since I’ve posted a blog, but LIFE… I needed to take some time away from creating content which felt like all the time and enjoy the feeling of living in the moment without setting up a tripod or camera. I am struggling with finding a balance between running a business, being a influencer, and enjoying life. Please bare with me as I work through figuring this all out and gaining a new schedule.

I’ve recently starting working on a new partnership with one of my favorite brands, Make It Classy. I’ve created some fresh content that I’m excited to share with world. Make It Classy has given me the opportunity to be a guest blogger for the brand blog, “Beauty With Class“. My first blog post, “How to Transition Your Skincare Routine from Summer to Fall” launched on September 1st.

3 Ingredient Pre Poo For Natural Hair

Hey Passionista!

I don’t know about yall but I don’t see the point in buying a pre-poo product. Don’t get me wrong, it is important to pre-poo your natural hair before washing, especially with transitioning from certain hair styles. But I’m personally not going to buy it when I can mix it up in my kitchen with 3 simple ingredients.

Using 1 Aloe Vera Leaf, Coconut Oil, and Aloe Water I mix up my favorite pre poo for Queenie P in minutes. Applying a pre poo to your hair helps reduce hair loss, making the detangling process easy-peasy. Now we all know that some protective hairstyles cause your hair to tangle up something serious during the take down stages. Whenever I do a flex rod or perm rod set and let it get 5 to 7 days old, my curls start to matte together and intertwine with each other. Going straight to shampooing Queenie P at that state would be a nightmare. My favorite thing about pre-poo is that it helps retain your natural moisture and shine through the detangling and washing process.

Today, I am going to briefly show you how I make my 3 ingredients pre poo, and apply it to Queenie P before I get ready to wash her.

Watch Here:

How to make pre poo:

Step 1: Shave and cut 1 Aloe Vera Leaf.

Step 2: Mix 1 part coconut oil and 1 part Aloe Water.

Step 3: Add all ingredients to a blender, and blend.

Step 4: Stain the mixture into a bowl or bottle to apply to hair.

If you don’t use all of your pre poo in one settling, I suggest refrigerating what’s left for up to 1 week.

Make It Classy Shampoo Bar First Impressions

Hey Passionista!

Okay so, I’ve never tried a shampoo bar before receiving this product. Honestly, I thought shampoo bars were more of a “white girl thing”. But now my opinions have changed. I’m glad I got the opportunity to try it and discover something new that Queenie P loves.

If you are new here, Queenie P. is my hair. She has her own personality. Sometimes we are the best of friends and other times she likes to piss me off and make me cry.

I recently received the newest products from Make It Classy in a PR package and I was excited to try the plant based Sassy Sloane Shampoo Bars. It’s rare that I come across a product I’ve not tried before. So when I get my hands on something new I’m excited to try it at least once.

My First Impression

I’m going to be honest, when I first received the product I was like, “oh, this ain’t going to work for me.” But so far I’ve used it 3 times to wash my hair. Paired with the right conditioner, it’s become one of my favorite shampoos to use on wash day. I love the ease and convenience of having a hand held shampoo bar to prevent spilling shampoo and slipping in the shower. You don’t know how many times I’ve bust my ass in the shower just trying to clean Queenie P. The label does warn you about getting the product in your eye, but I’m thinking it’s a plant based product… it can’t do too much damage. Oh baby! I was sadly mistaken. Using the product for the first time I messed around and got some product in my eye while shampooing and it was awful. The hair wash experience was downhill from there. I was annoyed and didn’t plan on ever using the shampoo bar again. But Queenie P has other plans…

Queenie P’s Reaction

There was a softer than normal feel about my curls after washing and conditioning. Without too much hassle the shampoo bar lathers really well. I’ve been pairing the shampoo bar with my Aussie Conditioner because I’ve mainly been doing wash n go styles. Amazingly, Quenie P responded well to the plant based shampoo bar. I worried about whether my scalp would really get clean by using a shampoo bar. Honestly, my scalp feels more clean when I use the shampoo bar over regular shampoo. With the bar I am able to apply the shampoo to lather directly on my scalp.

Final Thoughts

Now, I have to come up with a in shower hair wash method to make sure I never get this product in my eyes again. I think I’m hooked on shampoo bars now. I need the shampoo bars to come with a little storage accessory. Some type of tin or container to store the bar in when it is not being used.

More Details about the Sassy Sloane Shampoo Bar

Grove Collaborative Unboxing | Cleaning Product Haul

Hey Passionista!

I remember waking up on Saturday mornings to the fresh scent of Pine Sol and Bleach with some ol’ skool jams playing softly as my parents indulged in the weekly cleaning routine. I used to try to stay in bed and play sleep as long as I could before my mom would burst into my room, listing out all the chores I had to get done around the house before I could go anywhere or do anything.

Well, times have changed but not too much. I still have my weekly cleaning routine, it’s just not on Saturday morning. I’m a night owl. So, I prefer to get my cleaning done on Thursday or Friday night. Saturday mornings are meant for sleeping in (and that’s on Mary had a little lamb). These days I am a bit more environmentally conscious when it comes to household cleaning. Which is why I am so glad I discovered Grove Collaborative

First Time Attending The Pinner’s Conference in Atlanta GA

Hey Passionista!

I’m a crafty girl that loves a good DIY project. About 2 weeks ago, I attended the Pinner’s Conference in Atlanta, GA with my craft bestie, Bianca. This was my first time ever attending but Bianca has been several times and has even instructed a class for the conference. She’s pretty lit in this crafting world.

The conference is a 2-day event but we purchased a one day pass to take 2 classes. So, we spent all day Friday crafting and shopping.
